Emergência, desenvolvimento e desafios da psicologia positiva: Da experiência subjetiva à mudança social

Resumo


A Psicologia Positiva tem atraído um extenso grupo internacional de investigadores que pretendem unificar numa subdisciplina os estudos sobre o lado solar da experiência humana. Interessados em complementar a psicologia comumente focada no disfuncional ou no normativo com as condições e fatores promotores de excelência, tem contribuído com conhecimentos teóricos e empíricos para uma sociedade ávida de instrumentos facilitadores de vidas virtuosas e que valham a pena. Este artigo propõe uma reflexão critica, histórica e conceptual sobre o passado, a atualidade e os desafios de futuro colocados à psicologia positiva cerca de década e meia após a sua emergência, e aponta  para a necessidade de a orientar cada vez mais para estudos com horizontes sociais, económicos e culturais que transcendam a felicidade individual hedónica e uma visão ocidentalizada e anglo-saxónica da vida boa, e que permitam complementar o foco na experiência subjetiva com o da transformação social.
